Note on the General Operation of a Server Based LAN: Use C: when accessing local hard drive and D: when accessing local CD-Rom. All other network drives would be on the server and access would depend on security parameters. Networked printers are accessed from the print server by simply changing the print driver when printing. All users would have roaming profiles so that they could log in from multiple machines if necessary. There would be good security and automated backups would be performed at the server. All data would be stored on the server to lessen support costs. There would be high speed access to Moline and the Web as well as full email capabilities. |
